Hola Chicas y chicos!!!
Como les parece esta primavera? Es bien? Mal? Dejame saber!
Todos son miembros
We've been teaching this one really cool lady named Elena! We found her door knocking and she just happened to be looking for a Christian church that fits her! (So she ate down that restoration lesson).
Anyways, our second lesson in, her tía joins us, and when we pulled out our Books of Mormon, she basically said, "Hold up! I know that book!"
And we were like, "Oh? How?"
And she was like, "I was baptized into this church 30 years ago in Mexico."
At first, we were worried that she hated the church now or something, but we quickly realized that she just lost touch with the church after moving to the states.
Then on Sunday, Elena pulled up with her whole family! Including her husband (who we thought was hard-core baptist) and her 13 year old daughter!!! And the best part? One of our members in the branch is her friend from work! They were chatting it up and having a great time!
So basically, everyone she knows are members, so she might as well like... become one too, ya know?
Feliz Cumpleaños a ti!
We celebrated Hermana Stiglich's birthday at the familia Bobadillas! (Of course) They got her a big fat beautiful cake and had her comps (me and Hermana Schaffer) do the honors of smashing her face into it! It was fun! Best Mexican tradition out there! (Video is in album)
Destrozado en la Oscuridad
Then later that night, we were driving back from teaching the Salas family, when BAM! our tire popped and we had to pull over. They live 30min away, and in the space between where we live and they live is just a bunch of farmland and stuff. So it was a little freaky being stuck essentially in the middle of the dark nowhere with spooky trees at 9:30pm, but luckily, I've changed a tire before, so we got out quickly! Still missed curfew though! (Video also in album)
Pensamiento Espiritual
"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."(Romans 8:18)
I know life can suck sometimes. I also know it can suck a lot of the times. But what I know the most is that what we feel in this life is just a small portion of what is meant to come, and that God has a whole future of joy planned out for us. We just need to have faith throughout our trials and hope that God will bring something better.
I don't have a whole lot of pictures this week, but I do have lots of videos *cough* photos album *cough* so go check that out!
I love you all!
Hermana Perkins
