Death is somewhat possible

"Ayer es historia, mañana es un misterio, pero hoy es un regalo. Eso es por que se llama el presente."- Master Oogway (and apparently our DL's grandma.)

Hola guys! A lot happened this past week so let me cut to the chase:

Compañeras nuevas!!!!
Transfers happened a little over a week ago! I'm staying here in Lexington and I got 2 new comps!! Hermana Stiglich and Hermana Schaffer! They are literally so awesome! I love them so much!!

Hermana Stiglich played Soccer in highschool and knows a lot about musical theatre, so we vibe over that a lot!

And Hermana Schaffer is super freaking cracked at Spanish! She already knew a lot before her mission because she has a boyfriend from Columbia!! So she tells us a lot of cool spanish facts that I never heard of before! She was also a firefighter, so she's got some EPIC stories from that!

El Éxito (success)
Not only are my comps fun to talk to, but they're also CRAZY good missionaries! We re-organized how we contact people and it's worked so well! We had 5 new friends come to church this Sunday! That's the most I've had come at once on my mission! And 2 of them that came had their first lesson just a week before! That means they're statistically more likely to get baptized! Yay!

We also were having somewhat bad luck this week getting MPLs (member present lessons). Either our members or our lessons we had planned would keep falling through. But we were so determined to reach our goal! So this Sunday we grinded and managed to meet our goal of 3 mpls in a row!! XD

Tornado
One lovely day this week, we decided to go study in this cute café in downtown Lexington. It was a perfect day, nice and decently warm for winter. And then BAM! The skies were darkened, it started pouring freezing rain, and tornado sirens started going off!!

Luckily, a tornado didn't actually happen. But low-key, those sirens are FREAKY! I felt like the apocalypse was about to happen or something! (Videos in album)

Orar (pray)
Ok, with all this fortune that has been happening, we've also had a lot of misfortune. So I need you to pray for them all!
We have 2 friends in the hospital rn. One of them just got diagnosed with cancer and the other we're not totally sure what the cause is yet, but she's been feeling really horrible. They're names are Angel and Norma(our new member).
Also Felipe's(our other new member's) girlfriend's grandma who raised her from 8 years old just passed away from cancer. So if you could pray for comfort for both Felipe and Selena, it would be much appreciated.

Otras cosas
-Fun Fact "media naranja" means soulmate in spanish, but directly translates to "half orange." I discovered this from spanish dictionary and finally got to use it in a conversation! Then from that convo I found out there's also "media limón", meaning "half lemon", which is literally just the same, but if the soulmates have a sassier relationship jaja!
- My trainer (Hermana Lopez) is now an STL (sister training leader) and English speaking again!
-I started writing in my journal in Spanish!

Anyways, love y'all! If you guys have anything cool to share from this week, please do! I love getting emails from you guys, even if I'm bad at responding!

Hasta Luego!
Hermana Perkins
