Life is a highway
The other day I had a convo with Elder Bair and the end of it went like this:
Elder Bair: When was District Council? A week ago?
Me: No, I think like 3 days ago.
Hermana Lopez: *face palms* No guys, that was literally yesterday.
That basically sums up what time feels like on the mission. The days feel like weeks, but the weeks feel like days.
La capacidad (competence)
On Tuesday and Wednesday, we had exchanges with our STLs! (Hence the weird video in my album announcing it.) And it was my first time really leading out! Which was kinda scary, because it was my first time driving in 3 months and there was ice everywhere, and Sister Royce doesn't know Spanish, so I was on my own there.
During our exchanges, we had service at God's Pantry, where we give food to people and their families who are struggling. This time, we had an unusual amount of latinos who didn't know English. No one else who worked there knew Spanish, so I got to help translate for like 20 different latinos. That was probably the most useful I've felt my entire life. And it really helped me reflect on how far I've come with Spanish. (It's still really bad though)
La llanta pinchada (flat tire)
On Saturday, we're driving back to our apartment, and Hermana Lopez goes to change lanes. Then BAM! We hear a smack at the bottom of the car and something fling out from under us. At first we're like, huh, weird. But then we get off the freeway and the car starts shaking and the tire pressure warning comes on.
At this point, we're only like 5 minutes from home, but we decide we shouldn't risk it. So we pull over by a UPS building and check the damage. It was BAD. The tire was flat as a pancake.
Neither of us knew how to change a tire, so we called DL Monson, who worked with cars back in the day, and he guided us through it.
After we got it on, we went to a shop and got the tire fixed.
Anyways, the whole thing took out 2 hours from our day and we missed a lesson. *cries*
Silver lining: I know how to change a tire now.

This week in total was honestly kind of mid and a little disappointing, but hey, life goes on. Here, have a scripture that's pretty cool:
"And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."
(Luke 18:27)
Hasta Luego!
